PPA Players Shine at the Academy of Light

Six players from the Power Player Academy have returned from a successful trip to Sunderland’s Academy of Light. The players (Dominic Iankov, Ian Vidovic, Sebastian Cochrane, Alessandro Zaghi, Douglas Pimlott and Steven Simpson) were identified by Sunderland Academy Manager Ged McNamee during a one week Sunderland training camp that was held in August 2009. The boys were invited to visit and train with the Sunderland youth academy during March break and showed that they were at a level that was comparable to the boys there. The boys were also given a tour of the Stadium of Light and attended the match between Sunderland and Birmingham with Sunderland winning the game 3-1. Ged and the Sunderland academy staff will return this year to do another one week training camp with the Power Player Academy in August.
